This Week I…

Watched- Good Boys and The (new) Lion King in theaters, I Love You- Now Die on Hulu, and Katherine Ryan: Glitter Room on Netflix. Good Boys was really funny. I was kind of nervous that all of the funny parts were going to have been in the trailers, but that was not true at all. The new Lion King was great! It was just so weird to watch because it looks like it’s a Planet Earth documentary, but then the characters start talking and you’re like oh, yea, it’s the Lion King. There is a new song in the movie by Beyonce, it’s called Spirit, and I could take it or leave it. I wasn’t super impressed with it but it didn’t taint my movie going experience either. I Love You, Now Die is a two part true crime documentary on Hulu. It is about a high school couple whose relationship was almost all virtual. The boyfriend commits suicide, then the girlfriend is charged with manslaughter. It was really interesting to watch, after the first episode I thought I knew exactly how I felt, but then I watched the second one and was torn. The documentary also really makes you think about high school and what a precious/tense/stressful/hormone and emotional filled time that is. I would recommend watching it for sure, but only if you are in a good place mentally. There is a lot going on it in. Finally, this week I watch Katherine Ryan: Glitter Room on Netflix. It is a one hour comedy special and it is hilarious. I was laughing out loud alone in bed for almost the whole hour. Also, she sings a song from Hamilton at one point and that just made me want to listen to the soundtrack over and over again. I would recommend this comedy special for suuuuuure. Everyone needs a good laugh.
Read- nothing. I am in a reading slump. I’ve started a few books and haven’t been able to get into them. If you have any recommendations, let me know!
Listened to- a Lady Gang Quickie with Rachel Overvoll, The Sunday Sitdown with special Guest David Letterman, and How Men Think: Intimate Knowledge with Julianne Hough. This week’s Lady Gang Quickie was with a young author and advocate, Rachel Overvoll. She wrote a book called Finding Feminism that I definitely want to read. Her story is inspiring and how she built up her self-confidence is amazing. This week’s Sunday Sitdown with David Letterman was ok. I thought it was a new episode, and maybe it was, but they had recorded it way earlier. They were talking about the “new” season of David Letterman’s Netflix show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction”, but I had already watched most of those episodes when they came out in May. Lastly, I listened to an episode of the How Men Think podcast. I had been wanting to listen to it for a while because Julianne Hough was the guest (it’s her husband’s podcast) and I finally got around to it this week. It was interesting, but I think it would have been way more interesting if I was married or in a relationship.
Celebrated- Hilary Duff announcing that Lizzie McGuire will be back for a reboot! Lizzie McGuire is my all-time favorite show from the Disney Channel. I had so many Lizzie McGuire posters and school supplies. I can’t wait to see what Lizzie is up to now, in her 30s!

Visited- a local park with a one mile walking trail around the lake. I took two of my nieces to ride bikes there and they are doing so good! One of them just started riding without training wheels and she’s so excited about it. She was going so fast and doing tricks. It’s so fun to watch them grow up!

Ate- corn! Popcorn and Sweet Corn. This week I just really lived up to all the Midwest stereotypes. Ope.

Wore- yellow, that way if I spilled any corn products on myself (which I 10/10 times did) they would blend in to the shirt! Genius, boss lady moves.
