This Week I…

Watched- Holiday in the Wild and Young and Hungry on Netflix. Holiday in the Wild was a Hallmark-esque movie on Netflix. Very little of the movie actually took place during Christmastime, but it was great. It wasn’t at all what I expected it to be; yes it was cheesy but had some plot twists that were slightly atypical. This week I also watched seasons 1-4 of Young and Hungry on Netflix. It is super funny. The main character on the show is played by Emily Osment who grew to fame playing Lily on Hannah Montana, but she is not Lily anymore. This show is quick witted, a little off beat, and always makes me want a snack.

Read-Where’d You Go Bernadette? I had started reading Where’d You Go Bernadette? earlier this year, but then I had to return it before I finished it. I restarted it this week via audiobook and I am loving it. At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to like to on audio, because it is an adult woman reading some parts as a child, but it has since grown on me. I am excited to see where the story leads.

Listened to- the Sunday Sitdown with Willie Geist, Brad Behavior, Up First, How I Built This, and Work in Progress. I am interested in so many podcasts that this week I finally decided to dedicate one day a week to each podcast. It didn’t work perfectly because sometimes the newest one isn’t available when I want to listen to it, but overall I have liked this system so far. The podcast episode that stuck with me the most this week was on Work in Progress with Sophia Bush. The special guest was Alexi Ashe Meyers, an attorney. The two talked in depth about sex trafficking and the laws surrounding it. Also about how the liberal media portrays legalizing sex work as a good thing, but that in actuality it isn’t. On the show they talked about how it would be great if people who are prostituting were not arrested, but on the flip side how it would be detrimental if pimps were not arrested and prosecuted. They also talked about people who find it liberating to be a sex worker; that this is ok, but there may also be an underlining issue; you want to be a sex worker because you make a lot of money and then can easily pay your rent. Maybe instead of celebrating sex work, we should be protesting for more affordable rent costs. It was very interesting episode that I made me think about these issues in a way that I had not before. I would highly recommend a listen.

Celebrated- Thanksgiving. I don’t really like Thanksgiving as a holiday, I try to be thankful and grateful every day, but I do like the parade!

Visited- all the stores, on Black Friday. My sister and I went to Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, and Ulta. My sister is the best person to go Black Friday shopping with. I really wanted these pillows at Walmart, and I found one in a random location, so I snatched it up. But I wanted more, so she took it out of the cart, held it up in the air and asked the crowd of people if anyone had seen where that pillow was located. They told us. Then my sister crawled into this giant box of pillows to grab me some. She also grabbed some for two random strangers.

Ate- Golden Corral. My parents and I went to Golden Corral for our Thanksgiving meal this year. This was the first time I had ever been to Golden Corral and it did not disappoint. I had steak, salad, deviled eggs, stuffing, cornbread, yeast rolls, pumpkin pie, and about a million other desserts. I want to go back there ASAP.

Wore- festive outfits. I love a theme.
