This Week I…

Watched- The Art of Racing in the Rain in theaters, Gossip Girl and They Ready on Netflix. When I first saw the commercials for The Art of Racing in the Rain, I knew I would like it. It is a dog movie, that also has dreamboat Milo Ventimiglia in it. But the movie was so much more. I balled my eyes out, multiple times during the movie. I would definitely recommend the movie, I want to see it again already. Also, I want to marry Milo, but in the meantime I’ll just give him all my money. This week I have also been watching the original Gossip Girl on Netflix. I didn’t watch the show when it was originally on tv because I had read a few of the books and was not super into them. The show, to me, is so different from the books. I love the series. I watched all of season one this week and some of season two. I love the fashion and the high school drama. The drama is so escalated because of the sheer wealth of the characters on the show. Finally, this week I watched They Ready on Netflix. They Ready is a series presented by Tiffany Haddish. She picked some of her favorite comedians/friends and had them each do a set for the show. I love this concept. Tiffany is the true definition of girls support girls and we rise by lifting others.

Read- a little more of 1984 by George Orwell. I’m still not super into it.

Listened to- The Sunday Sitdown Podcast hosted by Willie Geist with special guest Tiffany Haddish. I am constantly inspired by Tiffany Haddish. I read her book last year, then listened to the podcast today; she has gone through so much adversity but she still has humor and so much strength. I’m very excited to see her new movie The Kitchen. I hope her list of dreams, that she talked about at the end of the podcast, all come true.

Celebrated- my sister coming home! She was in Vegas and I was watching her kids. I was so happy when she got home.

Visited- The Peoria Riverfront Museum to see their Art of the Brick exhibit, a whole exhibit made of legos. It was so neat! There was a life size dinosaur skeleton made of 80,020 legos and so many other cool things!

Ate- braizitos. I had been wanting to go to this restaurant, Braize, for a while and I finally got to try it this week. I got the Jolly Rancher Braizito. It was Herb Marinated Chicken, Bacon, Romaine Lettuce, Guacamole, Local Swiss Cheese and House Made Ranch served in a hollowed out because of baguette. It was delicious!!

Wore- looks inspired by the Nanny, Fran Fine. I watched my sister’s kids for the beginning of the week, so I decided to have fun with it and dress the part.
